Hey there! I’m a 38-year-old guy, and I’ve got a story to share—a journey that’s taken me from messing around with computers to a detour into the culinary world, and now, back to my true love—information technology.

Back in the day, I was all about computers. Me and my buddies, we’d do everything from building computers and setting up networks to hosting LAN parties. It was a time of curiosity, and I had dreams of turning my tech passion into a career. But life had other ideas.

Instead of pursuing a tech career, I ended up enrolling in culinary school. It was a surprising turn, but I went with it. Over the years, I honed my culinary skills and worked in nightclubs, restaurants, even a hotel. By the time I hit 26, I had a ton of experience in the hospitality biz.

In 2011, I joined my family in running a restaurant and a few other projects. It was a shift that came with its own set of challenges, but I was all in.

Now, anyone who’s worked in the restaurant world knows it’s not for the faint of heart. The long hours, the constant pressure—it’s a lot. Last year, I hit a breaking point. I was fed up, craving a change, and longing to return to the passion that had been simmering within me all along.

So, I decided to make a comeback. I wanted to reignite the tech fire that had always been there. I enrolled at Noroff to study network and system administration—a decision that has brought me back to my true calling.

Currently, I’m knee-deep in the world of network and system administration, with plans to dive even deeper into IT security next year. It’s a challenging journey, but it’s bringing me back to where I belong.

Through this blog, I’ll share my experiences, insights, and the hurdles I face as I make my way back into the tech world. I invite you to join me on this adventure as we explore the exciting realms of information technology together.

Thanks for tuning in to my first blog post. Stay tuned for more updates as I embrace my passion for IT while juggling my responsibilities in the restaurant business.
