Chris

I’m a 40-year-old currently studying a Higher Professional Degree in Network and IT Security at Noroff School of Technology and Digital Media. My background is in the hospitality industry, where I’ve worked since I was 17 — across nightclubs, bars, restaurants, and hotels.

Since 2011, I’ve been running a restaurant with my family in Hvaler, called Big Fish. The restaurant is doing well and stays busy during the summer season. That said, if the right offer comes along, we’re open to selling. The listing can be found here on Finn.no.

In addition to the restaurant, I’m involved with VITO, a German company specializing in oil filtration systems for the food service industry. VITO is represented in Norway through Andy Thornton Norge, a business led by my father.

I also enjoy traveling, and thanks to the flexibility of remote learning, I’ve been able to combine that with my studies — spending time in places like Chiang Mai and Da Nang while continuing my coursework.
Noroff featured my story in an article about digital nomads studying cybersecurity remotely.

Once the restaurant is sold, I plan to continue working with Andy Thornton Norge and VITO, alongside building a career in IT and cybersecurity.

This site is where I document that transition — sharing projects, studies, and reflections on tech, work, and life.
